Mein Deutschland My Germany
Meine persönliche Deutschland-Geschichte hat vor vielen Jahren begonnen. Damals habe ich meinen ersten Urlaub in Deutschland, Hamburg, gemacht, und mich in dieses Land verliebt. Danach war ich noch mehrmals sowohl privat als auch beruflich (als Dolmetscherin) überall in Deutschland – in Köln, Düsseldorf, an der Nord- und Ostsee, in Stade, Kiel, Heidelberg, München, am Königssee, in den bayerischen Bergen.
My personal German story began a long time ago, when I came here as a tourist and had my first German holiday in the north of the country, in Hamburg. I fell in love with this country. Afterwards, I visited Germany on many more occasions, both on business (as an interpreter) and on holiday. I was in Cologne, Düsseldorf, Kiel, on Germany's North Sea and Baltic Sea coasts, in Stade, Heidelberg, Munich, in the Bavarian mountains.
Mein Wunsch war es aber, Deutschland im Alltag, von innen, kennenzulernen und mich mit der deutschen Sprache auf möglichst hohem Niveau zu befassen. Deshalb habe ich mich 2017 dafür entschieden, nach Hessen umzuziehen und im Masterstudiengang „Deutsche Literatur“ an der Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt zu studieren.
Nevertheless, I wanted to get to know the everyday life of the country, to get familiar with it from the inside as well as to occupy myself with the German language at the highest possible level. This is why in 2017 I made the decision to move to Hessen and do my master's degree (German Litarature) at the Goethe University in Frankfurt on the Main.
Hessen
Hessen ist schon seit über 5 Jahren mein Zuhause. Ich liebe den Frankfurter Palmengarten mit seinen Sommerkonzerten im Musikpavillon, mit seinen wunderbaren Blumen und stolzen, sich wohlfühlenden Gänsen. Ich liebe den Opel Zoo und den Philosophenweg, der von dem märchenhaften Kronberg zum Tiergarten führt. Bezaubernde Idstein, Bad-Homburg, Wiesbaden, Marburg und Fulda begeistern mich immer und immer wieder. Und ich finde es schön, wie fremde Menschen hier miteinander in der Öffentlichkeit umgehen. Ganz oft lächeln die Leute einen an oder kommen mit einem einfach so ins Gespräch. Das tut gut!
Hessen has been my home for over 5 years now. I love the Palm Garden in Frankfurt with its summer concerts in the Music Pavilion as well as its wonderful flowers and proud complacent geese. I love the Opel Zoo and the Philosopher's Path which leads to the zoo from the amazing old town of Kronberg. The beautiful cities like Idstein, Fulda, Wiesbaden, Bad-Homburg and Marburg inspire me over and over again. And I love the way strange people treat each other in public places. Quite often they just smile at you or strike up a coversation. It does you good!
